Please provide the receptionist with an up-to-date telephone number which the doctor can contact you on.
Chaperones
Are you nervous about being examined?
There are occasions when the doctor or nurse needs to give you a
full examination.
If you feel embarrassed about this we can arrange for someone to
be there with you.
Please ask for one of our trained chaperones.
If we can’t provide someone straight away you may need to return for the examination.
Trust is important in the relationship between GP and patient and we would, at all times, wish you to feel able to ask for a
Chaperone, should you require it.
Interpreters
If English is not your first language and you would like an interpreter to be present at your appointment, please inform the receptionist and they will make arrangements with the Fife community Interpreting Service.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

- A third missed appointment prompts a review by the Practice Manager and GP. And a Third letter is generated.
Removing a Patient from the Practice List

Process for Removal
- Warning: The patient will be notified in writing that their repeated DNAs have placed them at risk of removal.
- Documentation: The practice will keep a detailed record of the reasons, circumstances, and grounds for removal.
- Notification: If removal is confirmed, the patient will receive a formal letter explaining the decision and advising them to register with another practice.
- The Practice Manager will inform PSD and initiate the removal process. The patient will be removed from the registered list.
- This policy ensures that appointments are used effectively to meet the needs of all patients while providing fair and transparent communication for those who may face removal from the practice list.
